Robert Newman's History of Oil

A hilarious history lesson and stand-up comedy act about imperialism, globalization, economic collapse, peak oil and the end of civilization. Using archive film and satirical impersonations from Mayan priests to Archduke Ferdinand to Salvador Dali, Rob brings home the pertinent question of just how we are going to survive when the world's oil supplies are finally exhausted. WARNING: Newman’s rapid-fire delivery, eccentric trains of thought and frequent use of British slang terms may be difficult to follow, but it is well worth the effort.

How can there be no comments as of this date, July 2010? This is brilliant. Like putting John Stewart, David Tennant, and Howard Zinn into the LHC and out comes this guy. Brilliant. Would be nice to dismiss his peak-oil diagnosis, given it's implications, but the evidence that we are at peak oil now is overwhelming. If you doubt him, I encourage you to investigate on your own. If you have children, you really owe it to them.
