It's Labor Day weekend, yet few Americans are aware of the long history of struggle fought by the Labor Movement to earn us such things as the 8 hour day, the 40 hour week, and the middle class lifestyle we take for granted. We are now at risk of losing all of it, as the ruling elite prepare to take it all back. The most radical and dedicated labor union was the Industrial Workers of the World, Know as the Wobblies. They believed in one big union that would unite against the exploitation of capital. The surviving and still-fiery Wobblies -now in their 70s, 80s, and 90s, tell the story of workers who took the ideals of equality and free speech seriously enough to die for. 90 min. Download here.

SANTA'S WORKSHOP - Inside China's Slave Labor Toy Factories
This film takes you to the real world of China's toy factories. Workers tell us about long working hours, low wages, and dangerous work places. Those who protest or try to organize trade unions risk imprisonment. Low labor costs attract more and more companies to China. Today more than 75% of our toys are made in China. But this industry takes its toll on the workers and on the environment. The buyers blame bad conditions on the Chinese suppliers. But they say that increasingly hard competition gives them no option. Who should we believe? And what can you do to bring about a fairer and more humane toy trade? What TV network would upset its sponsors by airing this program? 32 min.
